Do you guys think that Console Gaming will dominate the Market because Xbox 360 arrived & surprised us a lot .Sony’s Playstation 3 & Nintendo’s Revolution both are going to knock at our doors. Many gamers which are a part of an online community can’t imagine how they will be able to have all the comfort of a computer with a gaming console like Sony’s Playstation 3 or Microsoft’s Xbox 360. Do you guys think that Console gaming is getting ready to destroy PC gaming?

The console gaming is really dominating the market, even i have few consoles but i dont think that it will ever hit the PC games to bottom. About 90% of the gamers use PC and only few harcore gamers preffre to have consoles like i have.
When i dont get enough on console i have to ultimately come back to PC, So the PC market is always hot, but the consoles have a few days shinning, when they get older no one looks back to them. Now we have X-box 360 and PS3 in the market, so no one will go for PS2 now, similiarly after a while when the things gets older, no one will look at PS3 and this is a marketing fact, but for PC its not tha problem. 80% of the consoles games are in PC version as well, and only for the remaining 10% I dont think some one, unless he is a hardcore gamer will go to buy a console. He will rather wait to have that game released on PC. |

Powerful.. if you want powerful stuff then you have consoles, they are week considering they use a lower hardware but the games are designed considering that exact hardware so you can expect some really smooth performance.. You don't need much hardware when you are doing great with less..

Simple economics really :)
Why would I want to pay £30-£50 per game for a console when I can pay £25-£35 for a pc version? The pc is in another room and doesn't clutter up my lounge or take over my TV. When guests arrive we have social conversation and can actually communicate with each other. When you have a console in the lounge somebody will always suggest playing something. You are now limited to grunts, derogatory insults, and accusations of unfairness or cheating. I know which I would prefer - but maybe that's because I'm one of the more mature members of this forum ;) Cheers for now

I do not think taht it will dominate becasue PC gamers and console gamers are two different kind of people. They like what they like and that is it. I think the release of the new systems will not really have an effect on the computer indusrty.
