It is always dangerous to pop a pill with the prescription of the doctor. A lay person may not be aware of the right dose and frequency of taking a particular medicine.

Do you frequently pop pills without the doctors prescription, specially when you have a headache or cold etc?

I've been a pill popper for about 9 years or so. I do it daily. Have some side effects but nothing to worry about. I know all the risks, etc.

Sure, but I don't usually pop pills for a headache or cold that would ever require a prescription.

I'm the type that would prefer a prescription cause if i'm to the point that I feel I need to take a pill then normally over the counter won't do. Most over the counter meds are for slight discomfort not for real pain or illness.
