Default Applied to be an editor - Not Even a Response

It's been 3+ weeks since I applied to be an editor in a category that has no editor and that I'm more than qualified to edit. I haven't heard a word. It's a small category relating to picnic recipes and I know I did a good job on the examples so....What the heck??

Nothing, not even an acknowledgement that I applied. I thought DMOZ needs editors

Is this right? Is there someone, somewhere I can contact to check the status? Should I re-apply? Should I just forget it? Is there a means of checking on my status?
Thanks
Aaliya

Oh, in this case, you should try to reach the site admin, by simply drops him/her an email and asking it nicely about the editor's application...

Maybe they were away for vacation or some emergency happened to them, you'll never know...
